Incident: TAM A320 near Salvador on Feb 16th 2012, medical emergency

A TAM Linhas Aereas Airbus A320-200, flight JJ-3482 from Brasilia,DF to Joao Pessoa,PB (Brazil), was enroute near Salvador,BA (Brazil) when the crew considered a diversion to Salvador reporting a male passenger (67) felt seriousy unwell and vomitted. 

A doctor on board provided first aid including oxygen, was able to stabilize the passenger sufficiently and indicated it was safe to continue to destination. The aircraft landed safely in Joao Pessoa about 10 minutes behind schedule. The patient, minister and president of Brazil's Superior Court of Justice, was taken to a local hospital.

The hospital released a bulletin reporting the minister was taken to the hospital with chest discomfort and sweating, a cardiac examination showed no anomaly with the heart, no further symptoms of concern were detected. However, the minister was being kept at the hospital over night for further monitoring
