An Iberia Airbus A319-100, registration EC-KKS performing flight IB-3576 from Madrid, SP (Spain) to Vienna (Austria), was on approach to Vienna when the aircraft was struck by lightning. The crew continued for a safe landing on Vienna's runway 29.
The aircraft underwent inspections and as result of the inspection had to be removed from service. The return flight IB-3577 was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the evening flight IB-3575.
The aircraft has not yet departed Vienna 25 hours after landing (standing Feb 16th 12:00Z).
