Boeing paid Qantas $128M for late 787s

Boeing Co. paid Australian airline Qantas Airways Ltd. $128 million (US) in the first half of 2012/2013 for late deliveries of the Boeing 787.
The Wall Street Journal reports in the latest earnings by Qantas indicated the Boeing (NYSE: BA) compensation payment masked a weak operating performance by the airline. The airline also said it will purchase five additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
