INDONESIA-As part of the carrier’s plan to increase its corporate appeal, Garuda Indonesia has released plans to install Wi-Fi on new aircraft expected to arrive next year.
Releasing plans earlier this month, the airline said the roaming internet technology would be available on eight planes including the Airbus 330-200 and Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, Flight Centric reported.
According to the airline’s president Emirsyah Satar said it would cost the carrier up to US$100,000 for each aircraft to be equipped with Wi-Fi but will allow passengers to send SMS and emails inflight.
The Indonesia-based carrier also unveiled last month exclusive privileges and discounted rates for its business travellers flying between Hong Kong and Indonesia.
