Boeing has confirmed a $2 billion China Airlines order for six 777-300ERs, marking the entry of the 777 into the Taiwan carrier’s fleet. ATW first announced the order earlier this month.China Airlines is in the middle of a long-haul fleet renewal and said it plans to operate the 777-300ERs on new transpacific flights between North America and Asia.
Boeing also said China Airlines also will lease four 777-300ERs from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS).
The carrier operates 23 Boeing 747-400s and 737-800s, and 21 747-400Fs.
