Tampa, Florida (January 2, 2012) — Recognizing the 200th aircraft
redelivery for JetBlue Airways and the 500th total redelivery at its
modern Tampa facility, PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) honored its staff and JetBlue executives at a celebratory event at its Tampa headquarters.
Acknowledging the long-term partnership between the companies and the 200th JetBlue aircraft serviced at PEMCO’s Tampa jet maintenance base, JetBlue’s Jeff Martin – SVP Operations, and Marco Nogueira – Director Maintenance, PEMCO’s Bill Meehan – CEO, and Kevin Casey – President highlighted the significance of the companies’ long running technical collaboration.
“In this day in age, it is very rare to achieve such a feat and we are proud to have a steadfast customer in JetBlue,” stated PEMCO CEO, Bill Meehan. “This is the fourth year of our partnership and to reach 200 redeliveries is a real accomplishment. Recognizing 500 aircraft redeliveries at our Tampa facility underlines our decision to move to a state-of-the-art modern facility where we can continue to grow and develop this company for the future. We look forward to continuing our relationship with JetBlue here at the Tampa International Airport, and to building a successful future together.”
“We take our relationships very seriously at JetBlue, and consider PEMCO and our business partners to be invaluable to our success,” stated JetBlue’s SVP Operations, Jeff Martin. "We had our first heavy maintenance check with PEMCO on April 25, 2009 and since that time have sent 176 aircraft down for heavy maintenance visits, along with 24 aircraft for work on miscellaneous repairs. We are excited to be here to celebrate our 200th aircraft’s maintenance check with PEMCO and we thank them for their dedication and hard work to keep our aircraft safe.”
“This is an important milestone for PEMCO and JetBlue,” said Janet Zink, spokeswoman for Tampa International Airport. “We look forward to continuing our partnerships with both companies and celebrating their successes.”
The extensive MRO relationship with JetBlue highlights PEMCO’s excellent service and its dedication to providing the very best service and technical performance for its valued aircraft maintenance and modification customers. The MRO work for JetBlue has taken place at PEMCO’s expansive 12-bay, full service FAA approved maintenance base in Tampa, Florida. JetBlue utilizes an all jet Airbus & Embraer fleet, and its contract with PEMCO includes full-service maintenance on hundreds of A320 aircraft.
