After railways, aviation will now going high-tech and allow air
travellers to enter the airports by showing a soft copy of their tickets
on their smart-phones, tablets and laptops. Currently, it is mandatory
for travellers to carry a hard copy of their e-ticket and an identity
card for each traveller to enter the airports.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued orders for acceptability of soft display of tickets at the entry point of airport, an official spokesperson said.
Indian Railways had implemented this system of about a year back. Travellers do not need to carry a printout of their ticket. Instead, they can display their e-tickets through their smart phone, tablets or laptops to the ticket checker.
