Garuda
Indonesia, the flag carrier of Indonesia has recently launched the
upstream check-in service at five Pearl River Delta (PRD) ports. After
arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport by ferry, passengers
can board their flights directly. The launch of this new service aims
to provide hassle-free journeys for customers. The upstream check-in service is currently available at Macau Maritime, Macau Taipa, Dongguan Humen, Shenzhen Shekou, and Shenzhen Fuyong ports. With the introduction of upstream check-in service, PRD passengers can now enjoy the services for their convenience including general check-in, collection of boarding pass, bag tag and tax refund coupon, baggage check as well as CIQ (Customs, Immigration and Quarantine) clearance at the five selected upstream ports and borders before taking the ferry to the Hong Kong International Airport. Upon arrival at the Hong Kong International Airport’s SkyPier, passengers are able to collect their tax refund and proceed directly to the departure gate without going through the immigration and custom procedures again. “In recent years we could see an enhanced connectivity within Pearl River Delta Region. We are very excited about the introduction of this new upstream check-in service in the Pearl River Delta region, which helps enhance the connectivity for customers. We believe that, apart from bringing a more efficient and convenient travel experience to our customers, the new service helps encourage more people travelling to Indonesia with Garuda to stop via Hong Kong,” said Riza Perdana Kusuma, General Manager Hong Kong & Macau of Garuda Indonesia. Over the past few years, Gaurda Indonesia has successfully carried out its business transformation and has increasingly been recognized at international level after being voted Skytrax’s “The World’s Best Regional Airline” and named as “Best International Airline” for a third time in Roy Morgan?s Customer Satisfaction Awards this year. |
