Dubai: Starting March 1, 2013, Emirates will operate daily nonstop flights to Algiers, expanding further its African network, the carrier said in a statement on Thursday.
“The launch of our third
African route in just 13 months is a further demonstration of the huge
potential of this fast-expanding economic region. As a key oil and gas
supplier, Algeria has an abundance of natural resources and Emirates’
new service will help to grow trade routes and create new markets for
imports and exports,” Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of
Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group,
said in a statement.
Algeria will mark Emirates’
130th destination and its fifth point within North Africa, following the
resumption of services to Libya in November 2012.
